This pasta dish has a little bit of spice and a LOT of flavor. The key is the blend of spices which adds all the flavor to the dish.
The ingredients below are meant to prepare a dinner for two. As I usually like to do, there is a high ratio of veggies to the other ingredients (higher than the original recipe anyways). In my opinion, this adds more ~flavor~ and ~healthy~ vitamins.
Prep Time: 45 minutes
Yields: 2 generous servings

Ingredients
🍤 1/2 pound of linguine
🍤 15 frozen medium shrimp
🍤 1/2 of a pre-packaged Kielbasa, sliced thinly (Hillshire Farm Cajun suggested)
🍤 1 green pepper, diced small
🍤 1 sweet onion, diced small
🍤 Butter (to grease pan both before and after searing shrimp)
🍤 3 cloves minced garlic
🍤 1 tsp thyme
🍤 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
🍤 1 tsp black pepper
🍤 1 tsp oregano
🍤 1 tsp rosemary
🍤 1 tsp red pepper flakes
🍤 1 tbsp fresh chopped parsley
🍤 1/4 cup chicken stock
🍤 1/3 cup heavy cream (or half and half)
Create
- Coat pan with butter and mix in cajun seasoning. Fry shrimp.
- In another pot, boil water for your linguine.
- Remove the shrimp, set aside. Add more butter to coat pan. Add green peppers, onions, and garlic; sauté. Add kielbasa, thyme, oregano, Cajun seasoning, black pepper, rosemary, and red pepper flakes (with caution because HOT & SPICY). Mix everything together, let cook for a few minutes.
- At this point linguine should be done or almost done. Strain the pasta and let sit.
- Add chicken stock and cream to the veggies/kielbasa. Add shrimp in. Add more Cajun seasoning to taste. Let simmer for five minutes.
- Add linguine; toss to coat linguine in sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve and enjoy!
TIP: When you add the linguine in at the end, pour some additional Cajun seasoning (maybe another 2 tsp) directly over the pasta. This helps to add more flavor since the other seasoning is within the sauce but not directly impacting the noodles.
